Filament Hair Salon opened in June 2015 and is located on a tree-lined, serene street in New York City’s legendary East Village. In this new venture we were inspired to create a unique, intimate space where you can unwind and shine.
After many years in salons in the neighborhood, Alexandra and Seiji have earned the trust and respect of a diverse clientele through their commitment and passion for elevating beauty and style. After intensive training as a stylist in the most sophisticated high-end salons of Tokyo, Seiji packed up his styling tools and headed to New York City, where he has worked for over 15 years in a variety of hair salons. He excels at haircutting with keen passion and imagination.
Focusing on natural hair extensions and certified by Great Lengths, he has also completed specialized training in the ShrinkLinks™ and MicroTabs™ hair extension techniques patented by Extensions Plus™.

With over 13 years of experience with an expertise in curly hair textures, Alexandra is a master at cutting, coloring, and styling both men's and women's hair. She uses a dry-cutting technique, which allows her to see and sculpt a style as the hair falls naturally.
Having completed her professional training at the AVEDA Institute of New York, she has continued her international education at the Llogueras Institute in Barcelona, the JOSSCLAUDE & BeLLVeRInstitute in Mexico City, Make-up Designory, NYC, and The Devacurl Academy of New York.
After over eight years of experience and following her dream to become a top hair stylist, Kadri joined Filament in 2017 to continue building her expertise with curly hair. She has previously worked at salons such as John Dellaria, Privé, and Vidal Sassoon with all hair textures.
Kadri has pursued education at the Aveda Institute of New York and Vidal Sassoon Academy. Her training has also included European color schools like Keune Color and Davines Color. Through continued education in the DevaCurl technique, she has developed the passion, talent and skills in the art of cutting and sculpting curly hair.
